Geology; February 1996; v. 24; no. 2; p. 159-162 • New data from numerous detailed mass-spectrometric studies havedetected triaromatic dinosteroids in Precambrian to Cenozoicrock samples. • Triaromatic dinosteroids are organic geochemicalsderived from dinosterols, compounds known in modern organismsto be the nearly exclusive widely occurring products of dinoflagellates.
