What are they? • Childcare vouchers are a salary sacrifice scheme. • You don’t pay tax on the amount of the voucher • This saves you approximately £70 per month if your voucher is for the maximum amount
Disadvantages • Every time you move post you need to set up the childcare vouchers with each new employer. • Your childcare vouchers can’t be back dated.
Eligability • You must have parental responsibility of the child • The child must be 15 or younger • You must use a registered childcare provider
How to apply • Find out which childcare voucher scheme is your employer registered with • Ask your childcare provider to register with the scheme • Register with the scheme yourself • You do not need to contact the scheme, PCT or the contractor services agency. Your GP practice simply gets reimbursed as normal
