Accomplishments • Provided updates on relevant regulatory actions • Discussed the status of the revision of ERM TG11 • Called for more participation to prevent unwanted regulations • Discussed the impact of new 5 GHz certification rules • FCC KDB 443999 • “devices will not permit operations on channels which overlap the 5600 - 5650 MHz band” • Operation in 5250 – 5350 MHz and 5470 – 5725 MHz bands is restricted to indoor • With these stipulations, certification can begin again • Discussed the just released (17 November) Ofcom consultation on “Geolocation for Cognitive Access” • Responses due 9 February 2010 • Will plan response on conference calls Rich Kennedy, Research In Motion
