(turn and talk) • Fighting for the Truth • Honesty • Justice system- police, court, Government, • Punishment for not following the laws • When done, make a list of other words that are linked to justice in • some way. Use the picture clues on page 136 in textbook to help • create your list. Be prepared to share. • Judge • Lawyer • Equality • Reporter • Respect

  3. Explore the themepage 137 in textbook • What is justice? • How do these pictures show the idea of justice? • Why do we have rules and laws? How do they help create a fair and just society? • Look at the picture. Why do you think she is wearing a blindfold? Why do you think she is holding a scale? • Group activity: Work in a small group. Make a list of your school’s rules. How do the rules create fairness at your school? How can your school be sure that everyone follows the rules?
