Violence is not going to solve our problem…I feel that Malcolm has done himself and our people a great disservice…urging Negroes to arm themselves and prepare to engage in violence, as he has done, can reap nothing but grief.
Dr. King wants the same thing I want – freedom. Now his method of going about getting it is the nonviolent way. We may differ in method, but that does not mean we differ in objective.

Now, for the assignment: 1) Decide whether you believe in the teachings of Malcolm X or MLK Jr. 2) Either create or borrow a quote which represents your belief. 3) Create a piece of art (8.5” x 11” or larger) which promotes your belief using your slogan and visuals related to a movement we have studied or an event within one of those movements. This can be drawn, collaged, computer generated, etc. If you use someone else’s quote, make sure you indicate who made that statement. DO A GOOD JOB!!!!
