HEART OF THE PROGRAM Going the Extra Mile! The Heart of the Program Award recognizes school nutrition employees who exhibit an extraordinary commitment to school child nutrition programs.
Eligibility Who is Eligible? Nutrition staff (employees that are non-management) can be nominated – a nutrition employee that is assigned to one school or a kitchen that serves more than one school.

Award Received • State Winners • Red colored Heart of the Program enamel pin and a covered certificate • Regional Winners • Blue colored Heart of the Program enamel pin and a framed certificate • National Winner • Gold colored Heart of the Program enamel pin, an engraved plaque, a one-year complimentary state and national membership and registration to the current year’s Annual National Conference.
LOUISE SUBLETTE AWARD OF EXCELLENCE The Louise Sublette Award of Excellence recognizes child nutrition managers who take a special idea, develop them into goals and use the goal to help their school’s nutrition program grow.
Eligibility Who is Eligible? Award applications must be submitted by the individual member who is currently assigned to the manager member categories. A manager is defined as someone who is based in a school and has supervisory or management responsibilities over kitchen operations.

OUTSTANDING DIRECTOR OF THE YEAR The Outstanding Director of the Year Award recognizes the outstanding efforts and contributions of school nutrition directors, who operate their programs at the district level and ensure the success of school foodservice and nutrition programs.
Eligibility Who is Eligible? School nutrition directors, employed at the district level, can be nominated by a supervisor, employees, staff or peers.

PRESIDENT’S AWARD OF EXCELLENCE The President’s Award of Excellence recognizes three state presidents who demonstrate extraordinary leadership during their year as president. They are awarded a Gold Medallion at ANC.
THELMA FLANAGAN GOLD AWARD OF SERVICE SNA honors state leaders who support high professional standards, leadership and commitment to professional development for all members throughout their year as State President. Presidents are awarded a gold framed certificate at the awards program at ANC.
MEMBERSHIP AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AWARDS Certificates and cash awards are presented to states for achieving the greatest increase in members and certified members and attaining their membership, certification and credentialing goals.
Recognition • All winners receive recognition on SNA’s web site, www.schoolnutrition.org and in SNA publications. • All State Winners are recognized during the State Awards Ceremony at ANC. • The following winners are recognized during the First General Session at ANC: • Regional Louise Sublette • National Louise Sublette • National Heart of the Program • National Outstanding Director of the Year
