  11. How did the civil war affect Americas future? • If the civil war had not taken place many things would be very different. For example, One of the main reasons that the civil war even took place was due to the disagreement between he union and the confederate sates on whether or not slavery should still be allowed. Had the war never taken place, we may have still had slaves to this very day. • Many things would have changed over the past 150 years. Martin Luther king jr. May not have ever protested against the discrimination of African Americans in the early 1900’s. This is a very important piece of our history as well and if this had never happened our world would be very different. We may still have slaves. Or maybe someone else would have stood up and fought for their rights and what they believed in. We may have even still had riots or fights to this very day, had the civil war never taken place.
