Renaissance Art – Research Project You are to produce a profile for each of the following Renaissance artists: Leonardo Da Vinci Raphael Michelangelo SofonisbaAnguissola Artemisia Gentileschi You may present this project in whatever format you choose (e.g. poster, power point, speech) but for each artist you must include the following details: Name (of artist) – DOB (and location) - Picture(s) – background information (of the artist) - famous works - other relevant information You will be awarded a total of 35 points for this project (6 points for each profile and 1 point for work(s) cited for each profile. Leonardo Da Vinci • Born: Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519) was born in Anchiano, Tuscany, close to the town of Vinci and it was this very town that provided him with the surname we associate with him today. • Background: According to “History.com”: ”Da Vinci received no formal education beyond basic reading, writing and math, but his father appreciated his artistic talent and apprenticed him at around age 15 to the noted sculptor and painter Andrea del Verrocchio, of Florence. For about a decade, Da Vinci refined his painting and sculpting techniques and trained in mechanical arts.
