Mexico started the Fiscal Transparency Portal in 2011. • Recognized twice as the best innovation practice for transparency in the country. • Two versions have been implemented. • It was the start for strengthening communication with civil society. Fiscal Transparency Portal
Civil Society helped defining first contents. • Collaboration to implement the first citizen budget (2010). • Internal considerations vs. external. • Buying-in from areas inside. • Launching. Building the portal
First new contents Open Budget Index. • First Open Government Partnership National Action Plan (mainly Performance Evaluation System information). • New tools and connections • to internal systems. • New citizen publications. • More data bases, now in open data. • Participation in hackathons, data expeditions… And it grew… and grew… Still, the number of visitors did not grow…
Information requests through institutional channels. • Keeping track of most visited sections. • Introduction to National Planning. • Second OGP National Action Plan. • User centered design.
More than 2,500 data sets in open format. • 4 interactive maps (including schools of excellence). • 2 interactive animations. • 3 external platforms considering important topics. In numbers 523% increase in visits to the site… ### uses of the information.
