Why Mini-scripts • Advantages • Allows you to work at a very high pace. We were snapping the ball about 4 seconds after the Referee blew the ready to play whistle. • Pre-planned attack vs. one defender • High pace creates a psychological and physical advantage over your opponent.
How Mini-scripts • Identify who (Player or Group) that you want to attack. • ID the players strengths and weaknesses • Stay in the same formation or keep the same play and vary the formation. • Create a script that gives them as many different looks as your offense will allow. • Plan the sequence of plays to conserve your teams energy, but make the defense run as much as possible. (Work the perimeter.) • Opt in/Opt out 7
How Mini-scripts • Attack a specific position with your script. • DL- Use as many blocking schemes as you can to keep them off balance. • DB- Give them as many different patterns as possible. • LB- Vary their reads w/ blocking schemes, alternate perimeter and interior plays, use plays where the rhythm is varied (quick hitters, sweeps, quick passes, sprint out, screens) . 8 8
