  2. George’s Life • George was born on February 22 ,1732 • George’s dad died when he was only 4 years old • George died on December 14, 1799 • He was 67 when he died • He loved to play with other kids and people

  4. FACTS George was the 1st President of the U.S. He was known as the father of his country He stepped down after serving 8 years as president Washington was initiated as a Freemason in Fredericksburg, VA In 1757, George married Martha

ARMY • George was named Commander in Chief of the Continental Army • On Christmas Day, 1776, Washington led a surprise attack on Trenton, New Jersey • Another victory, Jan 3rd followed at Princeton • Washington was an effective (good) leader • George stopped the British attempts to quell (end) the Revolution by joining American and French forces in Yorktown, Virginia • Washington resigned (quit) as Commander in Chief; then presided (in charge of) over the American Constitutional Congress in 1787
