  1. How to make an stl file These steps will show you how to make a 3d object on inventor into an stl file to print on a 3d printer

  2. Step 1 • Open Autodesk inventor and create a new 2d sketch.

  3. Step 2 • Click standard.ipt to begin .

  4. Step 3 • Change your 2d sketch into a 3d sketch.

  5. Step 4 • Go to 3d model.

  6. Step 5 • Create a 3d sketch.

  7. Step 6 • Select the shape you are going to make ex. Box, sphere, cylinder, or a torus.

  8. Step 7 • Select which plane you are going to draw on.

  9. Step 8 • Make how big your object is going to be.

  10. Step 9 • X out of revolution

  11. Step 10 • Click the green check

  12. Step 10 • Export your design into a dwg file and save it to the desktop.

  13. Step 11 • Open your design with auto cad and select the 2d wireframe words and go to realistic and click.

  14. Step 12 • Export to an stlfile and save it on the desktop.
