Introduction • The U.S. is a society that was formed by many different immigrants cultures, ethnic groups and religions. This is why today the Americans are not the same as they were in the past.
Introduction • All family members help at home. The mother cooked and each member has a role to help to keep the house clean and comfortable.

Traditional Family • The traditional family structure in the United States involve two married individuals providing care and stability for their biological kids.
Extended American Family • The family is created at birth and establishes ties across generations. Those generations, the extended family of aunts, uncles, grandparents, and cousins, can hold significant emotional and economic roles for the nuclear family.
Alternative family forms • The two-parent or nuclear family has become less prevalent, and alternative family forms have become common. Now, the traditional families has had to adapt to changes such as : divorce , single parents families, teenage pregnancy, unwed mothers, and same sex marriage , also the increased interest in adoption.
