My Time at Highlands • Served as the Running Backs coach & JV offensive coordinator for the most successful football program in the history of the state of Kentucky. • Won the 2011 & 2012 KHSAA Div. 4 State Championships • Set numerous state and national records for points scored in a season, points scored in a game, TD’s scored in a season, and average yards per catch. • Assisted with a high-intensity off-season training program • Highlands has the 2nd most career wins of any school in the nation, following only Valdosta, GA. • HHS won its 5th consecutive title (24th total) in 2011. • Assisted NFL All-Pro and Emmy-Award winning broadcaster Cris Collinsworth in coaching the Bluebird wide receivers, and worked with Super Bowl Winning QB Jared Lorenzen coaching QB’s. • Highlands Football Web-Site Jason Lynch

My Time at River Valley • 2007-2009: I was the head football coach while also serving as the defensive coordinator in 2007 & 2008 and as the offensive coordinator in 2009. • We had a 75% increase in offensive production in 2009. • 2005-06: I served as the defensive coordinator while also coaching running backs and linebackers. • During my time as defensive coordinator, we had the top-rated defense in the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference. My Time with the Marion Mayhem • The Marion Mayhem is a professional indoor football team playing in the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL). • I served as the defensive coordinator as the franchise was first created. • I actively participated in the drafting of players and organized professional tryouts. • I designed the entire defensive scheme utilized by the Mayhem. • We had one of the top rated defenses in the inaugural season of the Great Lakes Indoor Football League (later named CIFL). • Marion Mayhem vs. Lehigh Valley Outlawz Jason Lynch

My Time at Walnut Hills • I served as the defensive coordinator as WHHS made the transition from the South-West Ohio Public League into the prestigious Fort Ancient Valley Conference. • We had the privilege to coach four D-1 scholarship players. • We also had the opportunity to coach a young man who became a D-3 Academic All-American • I also served as the head baseball coach and assistant student activities director. • Walnut Hills: Nationally Renowned High School Jason Lynch

My Time at Margaretta • We were the Sandusky Bay Conference Champion & Regional Runner-Up, before losing to Kenton, the eventual state champion. • Along with coordinating the special teams, I coached the offensive line and defensive ends in addition to being the JV head coach. • We were fortunate enough to coach Jon Sessler, a full ride LB at Kent State, NFL practice squad player, and Arena League veteran. • Jon Sessler Draft Info • I also served as the assistant varsity baseball & wrestling coach. • We sent 6 wrestlers to districts & had 1 state placer. • Our baseball team tied for the conference championship. Teaching Experience • River Valley HS 2005-2011: • Taught Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus, Probability & Statistics. • Had a 92% increase in enrollment for AP Calculus during my time as instructor of the Advanced Placement program in mathematics • Served as the lead teacher for the National Robotics Challenge where we design “Math-Bots” to solve algebraic, geometric, & trigonometric story problems using robotics. • Lead teacher for ACT test preparation where I offered study sessions and keep actively involved with the ACT College Board. • AP Calculus teacher and also served as a mentor for students as they begin the college application process. • Offered multiple study tables each week to assist students needing intervention and to lead higher-achieving students to a richer learning experience. • Advisor for the Ohio Council of Teachers of Mathematics “Mathematics Challenge” Jason Lynch

  25. The Impact on Other Sports • Success breeds success. It is vitally important for all sports to work together. • I believe that all football players should play multiple sports, especially wrestling, track, basketball, & baseball. We want to coach 3-sport athletes at HIGHLANDS. • Mat Drills • We must develop a universal lifting policy for all sports, & all coaches must stress the importance of the weight room. • Build a Community of Excellence in BLUEBIRD Athletics!   26. Leadership & Character • I believe in teaching leadership & character through athletics. • We will use the John R. Wooden Course as a text for our players in developing a leadership council. • We will also use the works of Jeff Jansen and Lou Holtz for developing leadership skills. • Lou Holtz: Do Right! • Character Education and life-skills will be a primary focus of our program. Parent & Senior Nights • Family is an important part of our program. • On each Parent Night, players will write a letter to their parents thanking them for everything they do and telling them how much they love them. • On Senior Night, the senior parents are invited into the locker room. Each senior will give a brief speech about how their parents have impacted his life, and the parents will be presented with a small plaque. Jason Lynch

The Extras • Publish a quarterly newsletter detailing the activities & accomplishments of the football program • Operate a Web site to keep parents and fans aware of events & information • Have a Monday evening film session for parents and boosters • Have a Parent’s Touchdown Club to handle locker decorations and team meals • Take the football team to the Motor City Bowl through their scholastic program • Hold an annual Coaches Clinic featuring as many local coaches as possible • Hold study tables to improve classroom performance. • Have “Leadership Outings” with Captains Jason Lynch

Fundraising • Create a “Friends of Football” organization to generate money for the football program. • Hold a golf outing & silent auction each summer • Hold dodgeball tournaments and sell wooden jerseys for yard displays, along with Power Lifting Meets • Gold Card Fundraisers and chicken dinners • Apparel Sales (clothing, etc.) • We used this money to pay the $290 pay-to-play fee for our athletes; we purchased a new Blaster; we paid for team meals; we bought apparel for our players; and we bought numerous pieces of equipment and miscellaneous items for players in need. Youth Football • I was a board member for the River Valley Youth Football Program • During that time, I have helped to create and maintain a youth program that has won a championship in each year of its existence. • We work closely with the youth program to ensure that all students in the system use the same terminology and run the same offense and defense. • We will hold a youth coaches clinic for our youth coaches each year and run a summer camp for our elementary school students.
