  2. Quick Write • Today we are going to create a plot diagram for “The Bet” • You will need textual evidence for the six pieces of the diagram

  3. Anticipation Guide: Agree or Disagree with a brief Reason • 1. Capital punishment (the death penalty) is an appropriate punishment for very severe crimes. • 2. Capital punishment permanently removes the worst criminals from society. • 3. Capital punishment deters (discourages/prevents) crime. • 4. Criminals who commit serious crimes should be put in jail for life instead of being put to death. • 5. Capital punishment is cruel and unusual punishment. • 6. “It is better to live in some way than not to live at all.” • 7. “Capital punishment and life in prison are equally immoral”

  4. Capital Punishment around the world • You will examine your five countries that pick from yesterday. You are going to do a quick research time and see what capital punishment looks like in those countries. You will be allowed to use what every sources you would like except Wikipedia. I would like a paragraph response for each country and an MLA cited source for each of your respected countries. It should be typed and in MLA-style format • Due Tuesday, September 5th
