  3. Introduction • Most elderly live in housing estates (HDB Flats) • The elderly have trouble moving around housing estates • There are insufficient facilities for the elderly to move around easily • In the area of housing, there can be improvements – lifts etc.

  4. Methodology • A social survey was conducted • It consisted of 22 respondents • 8 minors (<20) • 10 adults (20 – 59) • 4 elderly (65+)

  5. Fig 1.1 The difficulty level of the elderly moving around their neighborhood on a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being the easiest and 10 being the hardest)
