Home Learning • Reading homework 10 -15 minutes per night • Homework schedule: Sunday (Spellings) Monday (Maths) Tuesday (Literacy) Wednesday (Maths) Thursday (Topic) 20 – 25 minutes MBIS Home Learning Policy will be reviewed in the second half of Term 1
How to help your child with home learning • Establish a routine with your child: a set time and place for home learning to be done • Check what tasks have been set and that your child understands what needs to be done • Encourage independence: facilitate not dominate!
Expectations In Year 5, the children will be encouraged to: • Further develop their ability to work independently • Bring their own stationery - pencil - rubber - pencil sharpener with container - coloured pencils - small ruler with cm and mm markings • Set an example for younger children
Reward systems • Class rewards include house points, responsible tasks eg. collecting house points, golden book awards, praise. • House system – contributing to team success
Looking ahead • 5LD Class assembly – Monday 18th November • Theme days – Tudor Day in December • Trips – Cyprus after Easter • Events – Hallowe’en Party, Book Week • Middle School Production – before Easter • CIBSA events
