  2. Introduction • More than 1,300 years ago one of China's most famous poets Li Bai wrote: "Friends from afar trace March flowers down to Yangzhou."

  3. Slender West Lake • Yangzhou is full of scenic spots of interest and natural attraction. On the top of the list are the Slender West Lake. • Slender West Lake is situated in the northwest suburb of Yangzhou City. It originally was a nature river course named Baozhang River. It is located to the westof the city and is slim in its shape, so people named it Slender West Lake. Slender West Lake is 4.3 kilometers in total length with an area ofover 30 hectares. The lake boasts many famous scenic spots, such as the White Pagoda, the Five Pavilion Bridge, and Xiaojin Hill.

  4. Dongguan Gate Dongguan Gate, a witness to 2,000 years of history in Yangzhou, is surrounded by a number of sites of historic interest.

  5. Geyuan Garden • Geyuan Garden, one of the four best gardens in China, is well known as the only extant of gardening art for its Four-season Rockeries. The architect of Geyuan Garden had distinguished acuity of the figures and colors of rocks. In Geyuan Garden, different prospects in four seasons are constructed with rocks. Therefore, the rockeries are so rich, colorful and winning visitors frequently tend to feel themselves facing true mountains.

  7. Yangzhou fried rice • Yang Zhou Fried Rice is one of the most popular varieties of fried rice. It is so popular that it is served in almost every Chinese restaurant around the world. Chinese barbequed pork or 'cha shao' (叉烧) is an essential ingredient in Yang Zhou Fried Rice. It is the barbequed pork that gives it its special sweetish flavour. Just like the other types of fried rice, Yang Zhou Fried Rice contains a wide variety of ingredients.
