The University of Kentucky: • Is one of only seven universities in the US with schools of Agriculture, Engineering, Medicine, and Pharmacy on a single campus. • Has an enrollment of 26,545 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students and 10,900 faculty and staff, making UK Kentucky’s 6th largest “city”. • Has an annual budget of over $1.4 billion dollars, making UK Kentucky’s 9th largest business. • Has 814 acres, 345 buildings (including 19 residence halls, a 250-unit apartment complex, and 16 dining halls), a hospital, a health center, radio station, police force, bus service, and 14 libraries.
Achievements over the last three years: • Enrollment has increased by 1,754 students (7.1%) • The first-year student class increased by 924 students (30%) • The number of Governor’s Scholars and Governor’s School for the Arts students has more than doubled to 303 students. • Our six-year graduation rate increased by over 2% to 59.5%, the highest of all public universities in Kentucky. • Total number of degrees awarded annually increased by 359 to 5,247 (7.3%) • UK researchers brought in a record $238.3 million of outside funding for grants and contracts, an increase of 37%. • Market value of endowments increased by more than $70 million (16.7%)
