  2. Today’s objectives • Know how to evaluate information and judge its value, accuracy, plausibility and bias • Understandthat you can't believe everything you read, see or hear online • Be able to spot images that have been manipulated, and identify some of the techniques that have been used

  3. Starter • Look at this picture • Why do you think this picture was made? • Have you heard of or seen any other hoax pictures? • Why do people fake pictures? • Faked images can be funny, but could they also be used for negative reasons?

  4. Task 1a (in pairs - 5 mins) • Critically examine CD Resource 2a. • Is it real or fake? • What evidence can you give to support this?

  5. Task 1b • Read Page 3 of your Student Book.

  6. Task 2 (15 mins) • Look at the photographs in CD Resource 2b. • Open CD Resource 2c and use it to explain whether you think each photograph is fake or real. • Identify any parts of the images that have been manipulated.

  7. Task 3 (15 mins) • Read Page 4 of your Student Book. • Then use this link to help you complete CD Resource 2e: • www.museumofhoaxes.com/hoax/photo_database
