DAB Mission & Vision • Mission:The efficient development and implementation of core national data collection procedures for FIA data, the coordination of change proposals and task teams, and to share information and experience, across bands to foster continuous improvement of the FIA program. • Vision: Further build national collaboration between DA/DC units to ensure effective, consistent attention and resolution to matters that affect data acquisition. Ensure collaboration across bands to facilitate prioritized project portfolio implementation.

Urban • DAB Key Action Items • Continue communication on hot ticket items (i.e. contracting, training, seasonality issues, etc.) • Actually implement urban (i.e. training, workforce, plot list, manual, plot set-up, etc.) • More cities? • Personnel • All DAB TL’s, NRS & PNW: all DC personnel affected, SRS: Kelly, Angie, QA, IW: QA, Management, CO State • Timeline • Ongoing • DAB Impacts/Indigestion • Major problems with no hard funding (losers)…implemented as much as we can already • Major issues with qualifications (i.e. P2 experience limited) • Training is a huge investment of time and resources • Resources taken away from other priorities including core annual inventory • Resolve unrealistic p2-to-urban protocol (e.g. forking issues, tree lists) • Seasonality issues • Perhaps resolve with permanent hires but still have seasonality issue • Training is a huge investment of time and resources • Vision • Vision of one: program, team, pdr, manual, database, etc.

8.
