Best Practices for working with LAS in ArcGIS • LAS Data • Tiled LAS, v1.1 or higher • If no .lasx present • 200 mb file size limit (preferably around 50mb) • Keep file I/O local, avoid network • If .lasx present • File size and network location considerations mitigated • Projected coordinate system • Airborne • Classified (bare earth, non-ground) • Breaklines for hydro enforcement • Study area boundary included as constraint • Terrestrial • RGB, intensity
