  2. About Kids Teaching Kids • 2 week summer camp. • Kids range from ages 6-14. • Counselors raised every penny in order to buy supplies, food, arrange trips and rent the community center. • Kids Teaching Kids is designed for lower-income families. • Focused mainly on math and reading skills.

  3. My Kids • I was assigned to the incoming first graders. • We focused on spelling, time, addition, subtraction, and counting. • We also took breaks and did educational arts and crafts.

  4. My Experience • Teaching first graders was definitely an interesting experience. It really taught me to be patient and understanding. • I understood the meaning of teamworkthrough working with all 10 counselors. • I learned how to communicate with other people in order to be efficient. • It helped me see how lower-income families live and to never take anything for granted.
