  2. What happened after WWI? • After WWI the world made 2 crucial mistakes 1)We did not create a world organization to communicate and prevent future world wars (United Nations today) 2)We failed to rebuild Germany/Europe to prevent rise of Hitler and repeat of world conflict.

  3. WWI ends, begin rise of Dictators • Democracy vs. Monarchy • Some of the worlds’ most powerful nations were still ruled by monarchs through the 1930s. • Monarchs are never wrong!!! Royalty are chosen by a god, dictators choose themselves or else….

  4. THE BAD GUYS = THE AXIS POWERS • All ruled under dictators (1 all powerful leader) Italy = facism Japan = monarchy (royalty) Germany = dictator (absolute power

  6. Fascism • Fascism = a very aggressive nationalism, men are in charge, the military rules all, no free thought. Belief country and military more important than anything or death.

  9. The Good Guys = The Allies • Most of the Allies are ruled by democracies, but not everybody. USSR (Soviet Union) = Communist dictator Great Britain (England) = democracy USA = democracy, Roosevelt still prez and France too, but they get taken over by the Nazi Germans in 1940
