Structure of the LRPC 1 Chair 1 Vice-chair 1 Secretary (Dr. Silvestro Micera) N Chairs of the sub-committees Co-ordinating Committee • An “ideal” LRPC should incorporate the opinions and advises of a large number of experts belonging to different areas of interest/expertise (a 2-3 members Committee is not sufficiently wide-ranging) • A LRPC should work efficiently and produce concrete results (a 20-30 members Committee would not work) Sub-committees

Proposed structure of the LRPC • Two kinds of sub-committees • New sub-committees • New Technology Direction Committee • Industry and Technology Transfer • National and International Policies • Scientific and Cultural Issues • Links with other Societies (in different fields, within and outside IEEE) • (others….) • Existing Committees • Technical Affairs Board • Education • (others…)

  4. Proposed structure of the LRPC Expected results • Guidelines (“policy”) for future strategies of RAS • Proposals for possible specific actions (“investments”) to be funded by RAS surplus
