  1. The purpose of this document is to compare George Zimmerman’s statements against those of the witnesses that have been interviewed. • Why? It should indicate the veracity or falsehood of George’s narrative • Schema: • W# means a witness already identified numerically through other documents • W? means a witness I’ve not yet been able to identify numerically • P# means the page number in a discovery document • PR refers to the police investigation report made available 5/17/2012 • http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2012/images/05/17/zimmerman.investigation.reports.pdf • D1 refers to the first discovery doc dump made available 5/15/2012 • http://www.axiomamnesia.com/TrayvonMartinFiles/Trayvon-Martin-George-Zimmerman-FULL-case-report-documents.pdf • D2 refers to the second discovery doc dump made available 7/12/2012 • http://axiomamnesia.com/TrayvonMartinFiles/Trayvon_Martin_George_Zimmerman_Documents_given_to_the_Defendant_R.pdf • Anything enclosed in square brackets is my interpolation of a blacked out segment • Logic: If the witness statements match Zimmerman’s account in every detail, this goes a long way to corroborating his statements about what happened. If, OTOH, some witnesses contradict Zimmerman’s account, this would indicate either lying on his part, lying on the witness’ part or a difference of opinion on the sequence, timing or reality of the events • Missing pieces: AFAIK no one witnessed the start of the altercation, which is a critical issue in the case. • Style note: The titles of the individual slides are my interpretation of George’s statements, not direct quotes.

  2. Zimmerman confronted at the “T” W13 (pg 71 D2) stated he was in his house putting together furniture when his wife said she heard a noise outside the back area of their home. . [He] said he heard what sounded like an argument, right in the area of the T-section on the walkway. [He] then said he heard a scuffling sound that was moving down the walkway getting closer to the building next to his house [his] home is the [blacked out] townhouse in that section. [He] exited his house through the garage, picked up a flash light, and walked around to the back of the house to see what was happening.

  3. Verbal altercation – “You got a problem motherfucker?” “No” “Well, you got a problem now!” W2 (pg 28 D2) heard running outside and looked out her bedroom window. She looked out and saw shadows running from left to right. She heard someone say ”yo" or no". W12 (pg 69 D2) was sitting in the living room when she heard yelling outside the back sliding glass door. She initially ignored the sound, believing It to be a dog. As the noise got louder, she looked out the sliding glass door again and saw two men arguing [she] stated she turned to tell her husband what she saw and when she looked back out the door, the men had moved further down the walkway W11 (pg 40 D1) When asked what she witnessed, she corrected me by stating she did not see anything, but she had heard what she perceived to be arguing coming from the walkway behind her residence. She stated she could not decipher what words were being spoken between the arguing parties, but stated there appeared to be three (3) exchanges of words to the argument

  4. Trayvon punches George W20 (pg 40 D1) He stated that the sliding glass door to his residence was wide open. He states he and [blacked out] heard a "scuffle" or "rustling of bushes" coming from behind his residence, and upon first impression, he thought it might have been some rowdy teenagers. [He] stated that the tone of voices became more "serious" and then thought it was several people possibly attacking one person. [He] articulated the sounds he heard as "ah, ah, ah", and then he heard the same voice yelling "help!, help!", approximately twenty (20) times.

  5. Trayvon and George struggle W? (pg 37 D1) She stated she heard a commotion, which sounded to her like arguing. She then stated that she, from her bedroom window, observed two men on the ground, and she then heard someone yell "help, help". W? (pg 41 D1) he observed "someone laying on the ground that looked like they couldn't get up and was yelling for help", Upon inquiry, he could not say the race of the person lying on the ground, he looked like he had a red shirt, he didn't hear any arguing, and he didn't see anyone else other than the person on the ground. [His] impression was that someone had perhaps fallen down due to the wetness of the ground and had possibly broken their leg

  6. Trayvon mounts George W6 (pg 37 D1) while inside of his residence he heard a commotion coming from the walk way behind his residence. When he investigated, he witnessed a black male, wearing a dark colored "hoodie" on top of a white or Hispanic male who was yelling for help. He elaborated by stating the black male was mounted on the white or Hispanic male and throwing punches ”MMA (mixed martial arts) style".

  7. George tries to sit up W6 (pg 60, D2) he and [blacked out] were watching television when they heard a loud noise outside, They first thought it might be kids in the neighborhood or people having a good time outside. Hearing the noise a second time, he decided to mute the television. Not hearing anything at first, he heard the sound again as if it was coming toward him and getting louder. It was at this moment when he looked outside through the blinds and the sliding glass door. Having only a porch light, he could not truly see what was out in the grass area. He then opened the door and leaned out and saw what he describes as something that looked like a "dog attack” [He] says because of his initial view, that he-could see a person facing away from him who appeared to be looking down toward the ground, while in some sort of a vertical position, It was only when he heard a males voice yelling "help, help, help", that he observed a second guy pushing up or trying to get out from underneath of this person. It appeared to him the two individuals were struggling or wrestling [He] described the person on the top as being a male with a darker complexion, wearing a black or dark colored shirt or jacket. He described the second person, or the person on the bottom, as being a male with a lighter complexion, wearing a lighter colored red or white shirt.

  8. Trayvon pounds his head on the sidewalk W6 (pg 61, D2) He then asked the two individuals, "What's going on", at which time he heard someone yell "help, help" a second time. [He] indicated that at no point could he see who was yelling help. He then said, "Hey cut it out", to which neither of them responded. While still positioned on the ground, he describes the two individuals turning and moving onto the sidewalk. He said the person wearing the black shirt was still on top of the other person wearing red. He recalls seeing the person on top either forcefully holding the person on the bottom down, or hitting the person on the bottom. It was at this moment that he felt the fight was intensifying, so he indicated that he was going to call 911 and went back inside. He then closed and locked the door and dials 911. W1 (pg 62, D2) She said it sounded like kids but wasn’t sure, because she had seen kids out there thirty (30) minutes earlier. She later describes the sound as a "groan" or "moan". She then looked out the window but really couldn't see anything. She moved over to the back glass door where she observed what looked like "figures". She could not make out if it was kids or not. It just looked like figures and arms moving. She could not describe any clothing or tell if they were black or white. She said that it was really dark back there. She describes seeing the neighbor whom she believes is [W6] (and recalls him asking what's going on out there, and saying that he was going to call 911 W19 (pg 31, PR) he stated she had justarrived at her residence at approximately 1900. She stated as she opened her back sliding glassdoor in order to let her dog out Upon opening the door, she noticed her neighbor, believed to be [W6] at his back porch. She noticed her neighbor talking to someone, and she noticed someone else, who she identified as "the kid", laying on the ground. She stated she could hear the person lying on the ground, making a groaning noise, which she enunciated as "ohh, ohh, help me, help me or something like that". She stated that at first she associated the sounds she heard as her elderly neighbor possibly having a heart attack. She stated she then heard her neighbor say "okay, I'm going to call 911", She stated that upon hearing her neighbor speak the numbers "911", she immediately pulled her dog into her residence, closed her sliding glass door, and set the door's alarm.

  9. George wiggles off the sidewalk and begins yelling for help • W14 (pg 33 D2) he was walking the dog and had went out the front door. He walked to the back of the complex and he heard a person screaming help. A couple of the residences had their lights on. He looked toward where he heard the screaming and saw someone on the ground laying on their side with their back to [blacked out] He watched for about five seconds and then the dog got off the leash and ran. He then went after the dog and was out of the view of the subject he had seen on the ground. He then heard a gunshot. then ran to the front of his residence. [He] advised that the yelling had stopped after the shot. There was only one voice screaming. He couldn't tell the race of the subject but he thought he was wearing a red hoodie. He thought the subject had fallen to the ground.

  10. George sees a witness and yells helpWitness says they’ll call 911 and goes back inside • W18 (pg 16 D2) dialed 911. She heard yells from where the two men were. She said the one on top was more like wrestling not arms swinging as if striking blows. She said that it was a side to side movement on top of each other. • W16 (pg 20 D2) saw a body outside on the ground. She heard someone moaning in pain but not as if in pain. Just a low moaning. She said that the guy three doors down had his sliding door open and was asking "are you ok buddy". She heard a groaning in response but doesn't know what was said, The neighbor said he was going to call 911. • W3 (pg 31 D2) advised that she was in an upstairs bedroom and the office window was open. She heard screams, a male voice yelling help five or six times.. She peeked out her bedroom window and it was very dark. She saw the backside of a guy who had a white tee shirt on. That guy was on top of someone else. • W17 (pg 50 D2) heard what sounded like the word "help" or not quite the word "help", so she asked [blacked out] to pause the television. As both of them were listening [blacked out] said that It sounded like a male was definitely yelling "help". She then said It sounded like they were running toward them because the sound was getting louder. It was at this moment that [blacked out] got up and went over to the back patio door and opened the blinds. Not seeing anything he then opened up the door just enough to stick his head outside. [He] then yelled something along the line of "hey stop it" and then said he was going to call 911. • W6 (pg 37 D1) He stated he yelled out to the two individuals that he was going to call the police,

  11. George wiggles of the sidewalk and begins yelling for help • W3 (pg 52, 53 D2) describes hearing calls for help five (5) or six (6) times, long and sustained calls. She could not tell who the person was however; she knew It was a man’s voice which she thought was strange. Although her blinds were closed she peeked out from underneath her blinds and saw a guy on top with a white t-shirt. She later describes this person as having his back to her…..she was confused though because there was no one in a white shirt was there……that’s what confuses me….because the guy, like when the guy in handcuffs had a hoodie on

  12. George sees a second witness and cries for helpWitness says nothing and goes back inside W? (pg 25 D2) heard help, help help and when he looked out, he saw a guy on top of another guy. The guy on top had a dark colored outfit on. He assumed the helps were coming from the guy on the bottom

  13. George sees a third witness and cries for helpThird witness says nothing, goes back inside

  14. Trayvon says “Shut the fuck up.” and covers George’s mouth and nose

  15. George uses both hands to pry Trayvon’s hands loose

  16. Trayvon goes for the gun and says, “You’re gonna die now motherfucker!” • W? (pg 26 D2) heard something going on outside, She first heard like a howling sound and then the second time, heard a help sound. She couldn't say who it was saying help. She first looked out the window and it was too dark to see. She looked again and saw a guy on top of another guy. She then heard a shot.

  17. George slaps Trayvon’s hand away, draws and fires. • W19 (pg 31, PR) She then went upstairs, In order to watch the occurrences from the safety of her upstairs restroom window, which faces the to the rear of her condo. She stated that she opened the window in her restroom, she heard a "pop" sound, which she interpreted as a gunshot. [She] stated she could not be certain as to the exact time she heard the gunshot or "pop” sound. She stated that she then called 911. She stated she did not see anyone In her observations other than her neighbor, and the person on the ground, She stated she did not witness any type of arguing, fighting, or other physical contact between anyone, She stated she "must have come in after the fact", and she could not determine theethnicity of the person on the ground. Upon completing our interview, [she] agreed to reenact her steps, in order to establish an approximate time frame between her hearing her neighbor say "911", and the timeshe opened the window to the restroom of the second floor of her condo. Elapsed time was approximately 60seconds.

  18. Trayvon says, “You go it, ok. You got it.”, pivoted and fell face first on the ground.

  19. George gets up and grabs Trayvon’s hands. • W? (pg 30 D2) saw the Victim on the ground and another subject on his knees with his hands on the victim's back. • W? (pg 30 D2) advised that the man on top of the other had his hands on the bottom subject (Victim). He wasn't saying anything to the subject (Victim) who was on the bottom. • W6 (pg 61 D2) While on the phone with 911 he heard a gunshot or what sounded like a rock hitting the window. After hearing the gunshot and while still on the phone with 911, he immediately went upstairs, As he went upstairs he looked out the window to see the person who was on top of the other person, lying motionless in a sprawled position face down in the grass. He describes the sprawled position as one hand up and one hand down. He then recalls seeing the other person, who was on the bottom, standing with his hands in the air. Not sure if the police were on scene yet, he also saw someone come from around the corner holding a flashlight He then heard the person with his hands up say, "the gun is on the ground, I shot this guy in self-defense. He described the police as arriving almost immediately. • W18 (pg 37 D1) She then heard a 'pop" noise and then saw the decedent laying on the ground, motionless, and the other male, who she described as "larger" and "Hispanic looking", standing over the decedent. • W6 (pg 37 D1) He stated that after hearing the "pop", he observed the person he had previously observed on top of the other person (the black male wearing the "hoodie") laid out on the grass. • W16 (pg 40 D1) was at home at the time of the incident. She states she was in her kitchen when she heard what she interpreted as someone crying, or moaning in desperation, before hearing a gunshot. Upon investigating, she observed a male standing over another individual who was lying on the ground. She states the Individual standing over the other individual appeared to be holding the person on the ground by pressing on his back.

  20. George sees someone with a flashlight, asks them if they’re the police. • W18 (pg D2) said that someone ran down the sidewalk toward the person with a flashlight. He was not a police officer. She did not hear anything that was said between them. • W13 (pg 71 D2) [He] came around the rear corner of his residence he observed one person standing up (later identified as Zimmerman) and one person lying face down on the ground (later identified as Martin). [He] said Zimmerman asked him if he was bleeding. [He] shined his light on Zimmerman and saw blood on Zimmerman's' face and the back of his head. [He] stated the police arrived and put Zimmerman in handcuffs.

  21. George sees a 2nd person with a flashlight, asks them if they’re police. • W18 (pg D2) Right away she saw another person with a flashlight running up. She heard the person standing there say ”I shot Him". She saw the police officer handcuff him. She never saw a weapon.

  22. George says, “I shot him.” and is handcuffed. • W? (pg 27 D2) did not see what occurred. He went outside and came into contact with Zimmerman. He advised that Zimmerman was acting like he had just "gotten his butt beat" and he was out of breath, [he] asked if Zimmerman was ok and did he need to call 911. Zimmerman said he just got off the phone with them, While being handcuffed, Zimmerman asked [him] to call his (Zimmerman's) wife. [He] called the wife and as [he] was explaining to the wife what had happened, Zimmerman blurted out, "just tell her I shot someone". • W? (pg 31 D2) the police were there soon after the shot. She looked out the front and saw the police. The subject with the white shirt was laying on the ground, like he was sleeping face down, [she] advised that she had called 911 back to see if they had caught the suspect who did the shooting and when they said yes, she went outside. She saw Zimmerman far down from her. He had a reddish colored coat on and was handcuffed.
