  5. The Honors Transfer Program • Designed for high-achieving, university-ready students • Challenging classes: • Writing • Research • Be Ready for University-level work • All honors courses are accepted at most colleges and universities • around the country

  6. Honors Transfer Program is a GREAT option for: • Students who want a challenging academic environment • Perhaps haven’t decided on a major or a college • See the value and benefits of completing their first two years of their Bachelors Degree at Cabrillo

What do the universities say about Cabrillo Students? • Cabrillo students are not only well-prepared – they are often better prepared than their native students who started as Freshman • The most competitive universities in California know that our Honors students are top-notch: • UCLA admitted 80% of our Honors Scholars who applied for Fall of 2013 • UC Berkeley admitted 90% of our Honors Scholars who applied for Fall of 2014 • Transfer students in general are more attractive to the universities – proven ability at the college level.

WHAT is required to be eligible for the Honors Program: • 3.5 high school weighted GPA in A-G requirements Work hard in Fall to keep/get your GPA up • Eligible for college-level English - placement into ENGL 1A Honors Transfer Program HOW to apply WHEN to apply • on-line application to include essay - • Mail: official transcript with Fall grades and letter of recommendation • Take English assessment at Cabrillo or submit EAP: “ready for CSU or participating CCC college-level English” or AP English scores of 3 or higher • Apply for Cabrillo College – separate via CCC Apply • Participate in RunningStart registration • January through March, 2015
