2. Senior Meeting • Meeting with the student and his/her counselor, parents do not attend these meetings • Started this week • Review: • Transcript, GPA/SATs/ACTs, internal application process, Common App process, College list/ interview for recommendation letter • Before that meeting complete the Senior letter of Recommendation Survey on NAVIANCE/ Parent input for rec letter

3. Internal Application Process • 15 school day turn over time! (over 1700 school packets processed last year) • You should have already filled out the Orange “Authorization for Release of Transcript” form and returned in to the counseling office. • Complete a “Recommendation Letter Follow-up Form” for each teacher you ask for a recommendation in the spring and get that form to them asap. Teacher have until 10/15 to upload their recommendation letters

4. Internal Application Process continued • Submit an “Application Submission Form” for each college to which you have applied. The 15 day processing time begins when this form is received in the counseling office. • Check NAVIANCE to see when materials have been submitted • Senior meetings are being scheduled please make every effort to make it to that meeting

6. Two important forms- “transcript release” must be completed once. “transcript request” must be completed for every college that the student intends to apply to. FORMS- access directly. Direct access to links like the common app or NCAA Link to Collegeboard and ACT to release standardized test scores directly to college

13. Completing The FERPA Agreement • Applicants will submit the FERPA decision within the common app. NOT his or her Naviance account • FERPA question is found within the “Assign Recommenders” tab of your application. There is a “release authorization” to click on and make your decision. • In order for the counseling office to send transcripts, counselor recommendations, and teacher recommendations, this FERPA portion MUST be completed.

20. Completing the Senior Letter of Recommendation Survey • Student • If the student hasn’t already done so, we ask all students to complete their survey. The counselors use this information to assist in completing their letter of recommendation. • Parent • The parent also has there own version of the survey to complete. The parent survey can be completed only by using the parent account and can not be found on the student’s account. Completing this survey assists counselors to complete the student’s recommendation.

24. Checking On Naviance To Determine If Materials Have Been Sent • Application status within Navianceis managed in the counseling office • Click “college” tab • Click “colleges I’m applying to”
