  2. The award • Recognizes leadership potential of young IFAJ members • Supports global advancement of agricultural journalism and communications • Winners participate at IFAJ congress • Valued at €1000 per winner • Ten awards given annually

  3. Award sponsor: Alltech Alltech is a global animal health company, providing natural, nutritional solutions to the feed and food industries. • presence in 113 countries with more than 1,900 employees • 20+% annual growth • ranked 12th in top animal health companies

  4. Award requirements • Candidates must be involved in agricultural journalism or communications • No more than 35 years old (as of April 15) on the year they apply • Must be willing to attend the congress

  5. Procedure • One nomination per guild • Guilds choose their own process for selecting candidates • Judging conducted by panel chaired by the IFAJ vice-president of professional development and education

  8. How to Apply • Submit applications electronically with attachments resume and up to three electronic samples of candidates’ work • Send applications to Owen Roberts, award chair, vice-president of professional development and education: owen@uoguelph.ca

  9. Deadlines • Applications must be received by the award chair by midnight 1 March, 2009 • Winners will provide a 500-word story or three-minute broadcast about their experience 30 days after the congress
