Award requirements • Candidates must be involved in agricultural journalism or communications • No more than 35 years old (as of April 15) on the year they apply • Must be willing to attend the congress
Procedure • One nomination per guild • Guilds choose their own process for selecting candidates • Judging conducted by panel chaired by the IFAJ vice-president of professional development and education

Deadlines • Applications must be received by the award chair by midnight 1 March, 2009 • Winners will provide a 500-word story or three-minute broadcast about their experience 30 days after the congress
