Sometimes the bullying gets so bad, people commit suicide. 8% of people being cyber bullied try to end their lives. It doesn’t sound like much, which is good, but it shouldn’t be that high.
Cyber bullying effects a lot of people. About 13 million people from ages 6-17 were and are victims of cyber bullying. 15%-20% of children are bullied in schools. While 43% are bullied online. People believe that it’s easier to get away with bullying when online.

Cyber bullying is causing lots of problems, one example is a girl that got cyber bullied before and after she committed suicide. Before her death, she posted a video on YouTube talking about her experience with bullying. Not only did she get cyber bullied, she also got verbally, and physically bullied. She also got blackmailed the whole time. The pain of the experience caused her to self harm, then kill herself. Because of the blackmailer she had to constantly change schools, but the bullying got worse because the blackmailer would find her information and tell everybody about her past.
Some things to do to prevent cyber bullying is to never share information online if it can be used against you. Watch your tone when you communicate online and don’t participate in cyber bullying behaviour. Something else we can do is to support and help the people that are being bullied by upstanding. Something you should remember is that once you put something on the internet, it stays there forever.
