Skill 4: Bringing Materials to Class • What are classroom materials? • Why do you need materials at school? • Who needs to bring materials to class? • Where do you bring your materials? • When do you bring classroom materials • to school? • How should you bring materials • into the classroom?
Our Steps: Skill 4: Bringing Materials to Class Ask yourself, “What materials do I need for this class?” Gather the materials together. Ask yourself, “Do I have everything I need?” Recheck your materials and pack them up.
Skill 4: Bringing Materials to Class Step 1: Ask yourself, “What materials do I need for this class?” You may want to make a list of needed school supplies for each class. Some supplies may include pencils, crayons, paper, or a notebook. Can you think of any other supplies you may need?
Skill 4: Bringing Materials to Class Step 2: Gather the materials together. Get all the materials you will need together. This will help you keep better track of your materials. Remember, do not bring things that are not needed to school such as toys. What other kinds of things should stay at home?
Skill 4: Bringing Materials to Class Step 3: Ask yourself, “Do I have everything I need?” Use the list you made in step one and check off items you have ready to take to class. Once you are certain you have all your materials you will be ready for step 4.
Skill 4: Bringing Materials to Class Step 4: Recheck your materials and pack them up. While you pack up your materials, recheck to make sure you have all that you need. Most students will bring their supplies in a bag or a backpack. How will you bring your materials to class everyday?

School: You are going to a special area (art, music, PE) or attending a class in another classroom. Home: You are going to attend an outside club event or activity or you are getting your backpack ready for school in the morning. Peer Group: You will be staying overnight at a friends house.
