Lesson Plan • Making Perfect Squares • Grade Level: Sixth Grade (IA Lewis Ruston La) • Time: 45 mins • Subject: Math • Teacher: Ms. Thomas and Mrs. Saber • Materials: Square cut outs and crayons and grid paper
Lesson Plan • Materials: Square cut outs and crayons and grid paper • Objectives: Reviewing perfect squares in a fun activity so that the students can get a better understanding. • Anticipatory Set: Before we get into our activity, Mrs. Saber would have already gone over the lesson and concept of perfect squares. • Objective (Purpose): The student will gain more knowledge about perfect squares. • Teaching (Input): Perfect Squares Lesson • Teaching (Modeling): • Give each student 20 or more cut out squares. • I would put a problem on the smart board and the students must see if it comes to a perfect square. • I would continue this activity until the time is up. • Next I will give each student a sheet of grid paper. • They would have to make a perfect square by coloring on the grids.
Reflections • My experience was great. The assignment was simple and appropriate for the grade level.
