End of Year Project. U.S. History. You will create a Newscast. Choose one event that we have studied this year. It must be a single event, not a series of events. Ex. Not WW II, but D Day You will create 4 segments and 2 commercials in total

End of Year Project U.S. History
You will create a Newscast • Choose one event that we have studied this year. • It must be a single event, not a series of events. • Ex. Not WW II, but D Day • You will create 4 segments and 2 commercials in total • This is a group assignment, and there may be no more than 5 people per group.
Breaking News This is the main event as it is happening. It must contain a brief summary of events leading up to the event, told by the Anchors Must break to a “live” scene of the event unfolding. May have a commentator on scene or in the studio Must be at least 5 min in length.
Interview This is where you interview a witness or participant of the event. The witness/participant must be asked questions “on scene” and must give answers based on what someone there would have actually seen or experienced. Must be at least 2 minutes.
In Other News • You must create 2 separate news stories of events going on in the US at the time of your event. • Ex. D Day is happening now, what is going on in the US right now? • Each story must be historically accurate of THAT TIME. • It cannot happen weeks before or after. • Each individual Other News Story must be 2 minutes minimum each.
Commercials • You must create 2 commercials for products that were available at the time of your event. • Ex if talking about The Civil War, you cannot have a commercial for the new iPhone. • Each commercial must tell me where to get the product • Each must be at least 30 seconds long.
EOYP Summary Create a Newscast for a specific event in US History. Breaking News Story that tells the story of the event. 5 min long Interview with a witness/participant of the event. 2 min long 2 In Other News Stories taking place around the time of the event, 2 min each, 4 min total. 2 Commercials of products available then, 30 sec each, 1 min total. Each Segment is worth 20 points each, and commercials are worth 10 points each. Total of 100 pts Due May 30th, 2013.
