The spell binding attraction of the temple is the porch of the maidens or Caryatids with six draped female figures as supporting columns. One of the original six figures was removed by Lord Elgin in the early 19th century. The five originals are exhibited in the new Acropolis Museum. The figures onsite are replaced by replicas.
