Antsy Does TimeNeal Shusterman2008Realistic fiction Gustavo.R 1st Period
Setting • The setting takes place at a cold, school in New York City. This setting adds meaning to the story because the characters are still in High school. This book would be different if the setting was different because the things that happen there won’t happen there and it might affect the way the story goes.
Conflict • The main conflict in the story is about Gunnar and his devastating, illness. The type of conflict is man vs. self
Summary of Plot • Antsy finds out about Gunnar's illness and gives him a time contract. He gets every one doing it and then he finds out that his illness is fake and gets mad at him.
Theme • Friendship pays off • Antsy gets an IPod for selling contracts • The school held a rally because Antsy was being friendly to Gunnar • All of New York was donating time to Gunnar
Point of View • The point of view is in first person because it uses words like I and my. The story would be different with another point of view because there would be a narrator telling the story
Symbolism • The symbolism is used in time contracts because it means that people care enough to give part of their life to you
Recommendation • This book is worth reading and I recommend it because of the authors excellent description and how he made three different conflicts and put them together
