OpenStudy • OpenStudy.com is a social learning network that enables learners globally to connect, get help, and learn from one another.  With the mantra, “Take Ten to Teach Ten” OpenStudy’s disruption is to democratize education, allowing everyone to reach and teach thousands and connecting a learner in need with someone who can help at their point of need. OpenStudy offers access to high quality college level courses through a partnership with the OpenCourseWare Consortium. Now high school and college learners can earn recognition for their learning on OpenStudy, a documentation of softskills through our SmartScore Assessment engine, Certificates from the OpenCourseWare consortium for studying OCWC courses.   3. Our Innovators • Dr. Preetha Ram is a social entrepreneur, CoFounder and Chief Academic Officer of OpenStudy and Associate Dean at Emory University. She holds degrees from Yale (PhD), Emory (MBA) and I.I.T Delhi. She is an innovative award-winning educator, with many years of leadership experience in the higher education industry. Her published research encompasses online environments for problem based learning and collaborative learning. Her work is supported by the National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health and the Gates and Hewlett foundations through the Next Generation Learning Challenge project. OpenStudy: Innovation for College Preparation • OpenStudy combines a deep understanding of what learners want today with new technology to offer a bold, disruptive perspective on the national problem of college completion. OpenStudy combines an award winning learning community with access to online courses, motivation through game mechanics, and recognition through certificates. The assessment includes measurement of activity, engagement, problem solving and teamwork while studying the course. • We reach over 2 million learners, over 130,000 registered users, who ask 2,000 questions a day, and answer 70% of them within 5 minutes. Learners on OpenStudy can now engage with new college level material, receive support from their peers on the system, and improve their preparation for college.
