Hope to Harmony Newsletter Youth Voices of FBC July 2008 Volume II Issue 3 • The Scoop • Here’s the scoop on the Youth Council. • By Shanequa Minifield • The youth of First Baptist Church (FBC) have created a youth group. We are the FBC Youth Council. We have lots of things in mind for the future. But, of course, I can’t tell you or else it would spoil the surprise of what we will do. In the near future you will see some of our exciting events. To give you a little information on our Youth Council, here are our leaders. Let’s see there’s our president, Janelle Cottman. She is in charge of the whole council. She also calls the meetings to order and schedules the meetings. Next is the Vice President, Damien Sharp. It’s Damien’s job to keep the meetings on track and think of future plans. Then there’s the treasurer, Ana-lycia Pena. Her job is to collect all funds and count the funds with an advisor. Next there is Shanequa Minifield (that’s me), the secretary. My job is to take notes at each meeting and to make sure everyone has paper and pens. Our chaplain, Lexi Sharp’s job is to do opening and closing prayer and make sure everyone follows the meeting rules. Our other members are Sadè Stewart and Raven Logan. Last but, not least, there are our wonderful advisors: Toni Evans, Jennifer Stacy, Robyn Thompson and Reverend Zimmerman. • That’s the Scoop!
