  3. IIM in india IIM IIMs were founded under the guidance of the first Prime Minister of India on the recommendations of the Planning Commission. All the IIMs are under the Ministry of Human Resource Management, Government of India. Earlier, India has only six IIMs located in Calcutta, Ahmadabad, Bangalore, Indore, Kozhikode and Lucknow.
