  3. Who tests? All Gifted and Talented Nominees and All 1st and 5th Grade students will take the CogAT

  4. CogAT Time The CogAT consists of 9 subtests Grades 3 and above are timed 10 minutes each – 90 minutes total K,1st and 2nd are untimed and take between 1.5 to 2 hours

  5. Before the Test Headphones are needed for audio tests (Audio English or Spanish) Be sure to test that headsets are working and check volume Students have to exit test to adjust volume

  6. Before the Test • Scratch paper is allowed for tests 9-17/18, none for lower level tests • Some Accommodations are allowed – Please contact Stephanie or Shara

  8. Proctor Before the Test Click on Applications Switcher then click Assessments

  9. Proctor Before the Test Or click on the Paper/Pencil Icon on the bottom left

  10. Proctor Before the Test Click on the BLUE Icon next to GT Testing Important: DO NOT click Blue Icon next to LEP Identification Testing. The data will be in the incorrect location! CogAT Fall 2016 GT Testing

  11. Proctor Before the Test Co gAT Create a test session Test Event: Choose Fall 2016 GT Testing Grade: Choose Grade Test Group: Choose CogAT7 Complete

Proctor Before the Test Co gAT Level: Defaults according to grade selected Battery Subtest: Picture Analogies (K – 2nd) -Verbal Analogies (3rd – 12th) Test Administration Type: Proctor Led – Recommend for K 1st/2ndGrades- Proctor of Audio – depending on students Audio English/ Spanish (3rd and above)

  13. Proctor Before the Test Co gAT Battery Subtest: Picture Analogies (K – 8th) -Verbal Analogies (9th – 12th) You only need to create a session for the first subtest, the system automatically proceeds to the next subtest, as long as proctor selects Continue Testing All after each subtest

  14. Proctor Before the Test Co gAT Proctor Led – The test administrator reads each question while the students look at the answer choices. The TA advances the subtest to the next question after students have had sufficient time to answer. Audio English/ Spanish - Students hear the directions in English or Spanish for each subtest and work independently at their own pace. (Headphones needed)

  15. Proctor Before the Test Co gAT Name the Assessment with the CAMPUS name FIRST! Ex: Lanier 9thCogAT Click Create Session You should get a message that says: Test Session Saved The session name will show up under Created Sessions

  16. Student Computer Before the Test IMPORTANT! Be sure the Data Manager Secure Browser has been downloaded to computers or laptops being used for testing

  17. Student Computer Before the Test Email the IP Addresses to scontreras@saisd.net to get browser loaded *Make sure to leave Computers on

  18. Student Computer Before the Test Bilingual testing uses the same system, so it is possible that the browser is already on several computers at your school The Icon below should be on screen

  19. Proctor Self -Paced Test Click the session name to open NOTE: You MUST open session before students can login

  20. Proctor Self -Paced Test Write the down the session code Student(s) will use this code to login to test

  21. Student Computer Self -Paced Test Student(s) will click on the Secure Browser

  22. Student Computer Self -Paced Test Students log in using their student ID and the test session code

  23. Student Computer Self -Paced Test Students will see this until proctor initiates the test

  24. Proctor Self -Paced Test As student(s) log in their names will appear in the Waiting for Approval area

  25. Proctor Self -Paced Test After the students have logged in, select Approve All You can view students progress on your screen

  26. Proctor Self -Paced Test Students begin test and proctor can view progress

  27. Proctor Self -Paced Test When all students complete one subtest, select Continue Testing All to take them to the next subtest

  28. Student Computer Self -Paced Test Once students have finished their subtests, they will be directed to the drawing screen

  29. Proctor Self -Paced Test CogAT: Students take 9 subtests DO NOT click on End Testing All until students complete all 9 subtests

  30. Proctor Self -Paced Test When ALL students complete all 9 subtests, select End Testing All

  31. Student Computer Self -Paced Test Students need to click End when finished with all 9 subtests

  32. Proctor Self -Paced Test You can administer more than one self-paced or audio test, simultaneously by opening multiple testing sessions from the Manage tab.

  33. Proctor Self -Paced Test You can toggle between the screens to Approve All and Continue Testing All to manage more than one – best practice: max of 3 sessions at once

  34. Proctor Proctor Led Test You can administer only one Proctor Led session at a time **Can’t combine proctor led and Audio

  35. Proctor Proctor Led Test Proctor Led Sessions require the proctor to read instructions and questions to students as well as move entire testing group together through the test • Getting Started Tutorial • Kinder, 1st and 2nd Grade • Sample questions – Grade 3 and above

  36. Proctor Proctor Led Test Students login and are approved as with the self-paced tests Select the Proctor Led tab to access proctor directions and info

  37. Proctor Proctor Led Test For proctor led sessions, directions/script for the proctor will be in the top half of the screen; the lower pane displays what students see on their screen access proctor directions and info

  38. Proctor Proctor Led Test Proctors should read verbatim the text preceded SAY to students

  42. Proctor Proctor Led Test When the student answers the current question, a green check mark appears in the Answeredcolumn of the Student area on the left

  43. Proctor Proctor Led Test For some subtests, the proctor will read directions or give instructions and then release students to work independently at their own pace through at timed subtest

  44. Proctor Proctor Led Test For some subtests, the proctor will read directions or give instructions through the sample items as well as through every question on the subtest

  45. Proctor Proctor Led Test If the Proctor selects to Continue Testing All, the students will move to the next subtest in sequence. Once the next subtest is completed, the proctor can again continue to the next subtest or end testing. This process continues until the proctor selects to end testing. To end testing, the proctor will select End Testing All

  46. Student Computer Proctor Led Test Once all subtests are complete – students click End

  47. Proctor Proctor Led Test K, 1st, and 2nd the test can be split up over 2 or 3 days as needed. For grades 3 and above, the entire CogAt should be completed in one session, if possible.

  48. Reports Allow 24 hours after testing for data to be available to run reports

  49. Reports Click the Applications Switcher then click reports or Click the Bar Graph Icon on the bottom left

  50. Reports Assessment:CogAT Test Admin Date: Fall 2015 GT Testing Display Type: Student Profile Narrative Grade: Choose one or more Scores: Local Percentile Rank, Standard Age , Score and Age Percentile Rank
