PlanetLab Software • MyPLC v5.0 • Released to community • Primarily code reorganization • Live on PLE; need to upgrade PLC, VINI • VINI Trellis (Linux 2.6.27) kernel • Running on 300 PlanetLab nodes • Finish rollout “soon” • Move to 2.6.32 (RHEL6) kernel ASAP GENI Engineering Conference 9, Washington DC

SFA GUI • Goal: PlanetLab Clearinghouse Web GUI • PlanetLab users can easily access GENI resources • Milestone: desktop GUI • SFA-GUI: demo at GEC8, uses pyjamas-desktop • Sface: GUI prototype from OneLab, uses PyQt • Developer momentum behind Sface • Set slice attributes • Support multiple aggregates • Support virtual topologies (i.e., VINI) GENI Engineering Conference 9, Washington DC

New project: VICCI • NSF-funded effort to support research on next-generation Clouds • 1000 cores, OpenFlow switch • 4 US sites, 2 EU sites, Japan • Phase 0: MyPLC, PlanetLab node software • Federate, enable access via GENI AM API • Create incentives to grow VICCI • Not an “open” infrastructure • Develop VICCI federation policies GENI Engineering Conference 9, Washington DC
