Before I came up with a solid idea for my documentary I decided upon four categories I would be interested in filming. These were ‘Bing Drinking’, ‘Young parenthood’, ‘Drugs’ and ‘A day in the life of..’. With these I created two questionnaires. One to decide on the type of documentary I would be filming and one to find out my target audience.
From the results of my first question I then asked how interested they would be in watching a documentary on pregnancy and young parenthood.
Based on these results my documentary will be about Young Parenthood and Pregnancy and will be aimed at an audience with an average age of 19.
My documentary will focus on two friends, one of which has recently given birth and one which is 8 months pregnant. . • They will be talking about how they felt when they found out they were expecting and how they and their families dealt with the situation along with their plans for the future. • I will try to compare pregnancies and conclude by getting them together to share advice and tips
They will be talking about how they felt when they found out they were expecting and how they and their families dealt with the situation along with their plans for the future.
Problems The problems I had to overcome were making sure we had a quiet space to interview and getting my two characters together at the same time. Since one (Hannah) is 8 months pregnant and the other (Becca) has a four month old child both their schedules are busy and finding time to interview them separately was tricky let alone finding a time where they were both free to film them together. We only had a hour to film them together late Saturday night, A hour Wednesday and were supposed to have a couple of hours Monday morning but due to weather conditions and busy schedules Hannah found it difficult to meet me and was unsure on times so we only ended up with half an hour filming time. But hopefully I managed to get all I needed.
