  3. RURAL RENAISSANCE • Exploitation of farmers by Polson and middleman • Kaira Cooperative Group was formed backed by the vision of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. • Initiative & dynamism shown by: Verghese Kurien Tribhuvandas Patel H.M.Dalaya to fight against all the odds is quite commendable.

VERGHESE KURIEN’s contribution… • Organised funds from UNO • Experiment of making condensed milk from buffalo’s milk • Construction of cooperative’s new dairy in 11 months: • Construction was organised • Tackled the situation of blasts in boiler house & strike at bombay port. • Organized transportation of boilers to Anand by Western Railway In 1973, GCMMF was formed.
