Reviewing for the AP Human Geography Exam AP Human Geography
First things first! • Final exam on Thursday May 17th. • AP Exam is on Friday May 18th. • Attendance between now and then is extremely important • 110% required • AP classes take priority • 35th weeks tests have been moved to 36th week.
3 Levels of Review • All 3 types of review are strongly encouraged for success! • Individual • Large Group • Small Group
Individual Review • Done independently outside of the classroom. • Includes: • Assigned review packets • Textbook review (1 chapter per night) • Vocabulary note card review • Review using study guide, other resources such as Shmoop.com.
Large Group Review • This will be highly structured and done in class. • Students will be assigned to groups 4-5 students. • Each group will create a review presentation covering their assigned topic (week 1) and present to the class (week 2). • Finished products will include a PPt presentation as well as a “one-pager” focusing on main ideas from your sections.
Small Group Review • Small Group Review will include a series of after-school review sessions leading up to the AP Exam. • These will allow you to focus on specific areas with the guidance of Mr. P. • 2/ week for the next 3 weeks.
Incentives • Even though the best incentive for getting a 5, 4, or 3 on an AP Exam is to prove to the world what a baller you really are, I thought we could have some fun. • Anyone who receives a 3 will be honored by Mr. P in a very special way next school year and will have a pizza party thrown in your honor! • Anyone who receives a 4 will receive a $50 gift card to a store of your choice (Foot Locker, Target, ChuckECheeze, The Lame Store) • Anyone who receives a 5 will get 2 tickets to a concert or sporting event of your choice ($100 max value)
Food for Thought • “Try and fail, but don't fail to try.” • Some dude • “My philosophy is that not only are you responsible for your life, but doing the best at this moment puts you I the best place for the next moment” • Oprah • “Please do well on this test so we can save money on college” • Yo Momma!
