A field is a region where a body experiences a force: Field Source of field Body affected Gravitational Mass Mass Electric Charge Charge Magnetic Moving charge* Moving charge *Note that the magnetic field created by a permanent magnet is due to the motion of electrons in the substance

  3. Field Strengths * No need to learn (1A of current, wire perpendicular to field)

  4. Field direction (Field lines) Gravitational: Direction of force on test mass Electrical: Direction of force on a positive test charge Magnetic: Direction the N pole of a compass would point. LHR – Left hand rule.
