Goal: • To provide information unto multidisciplinary health professionals regarding the maintenance of physical and mental health amongst the adolescent male population in order to promote an optimal quality of life and reduce the risk of mortality.
Age: • The World Health Organization (WHO) has defined adolescence as pertaining to those within the age range of 10 and 19 years.
Implication for health promotion: • Males within this age range have a higher tendency to engage in “risky” behaviors therefore, endangering their lives. • Adolescent males are more likely to die than adolescent females at every single year of age from 12 to 19 years (cdc 2012)
