Features • In-line commenting / video chaptering: Allows users to comment on a specific point in time on the video. Also creates an associated link below in the page comment section with a link that will jump to that spot in the video where the comment was made. • Mobile device support: Videos can be watched on iPads, iPods, iPhones, Android and other mobile devices through integrated HTML5 video support throughout MIT TechTV. • Privacy settings / Integration with MIT’s Touchstone authentication system: Allows the owner of the video to set the level of security on a video so that they can keep it private, share it with an individual or two, with a course roster, with the world or whatever they choose. • Comment moderation: Allows owners to easily view and moderate (keep / delete) comments made on their videos.
Features Cont. • Closed Captioning: If the owner of a video uploads a .srt file (standard closed captioning formatted file) the MIT TechTV player will automatically transform to include a new section between the video and the control bar to display closed captions for accessibility. This functionality is also available in the embed function selections so that users can put their video with closed captions into their own website. • Sub-collections for organization: Account managers can file their videos in multiple nesting sub-collections for organization and association of like videos. Each collection and sub-collection has its own set of information, display and unique link. • Analytics: Users can see how many times a video has been viewed. Owners can see a more advanced page where reports of all of their videos can be made, based on a date range, how many times a video has been played as well as how many viewers watched 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% of a video.
