  4. Vasco da Gama Ships • The ships were Sao Gabriel, Sao Rafael, Berrio, and the Starship. • Sao Rafael is the flag ship.Vasco’s brother Paulo, commanded the ship Sao Rafael.

  5. Vasco da Gama’s 1st voyage • When Vasco da Gama set out on July 8, 1497 that was his first voyage. • He was equipped with four ships.

  6. Vasco Landed • Vasco landed in Calicut, India. • The year and date was May 20,1498.

  7. Vasco Returned • He left India August 29, 1498. • He returned in Lisbon, Portugal in 1499 during the month of September.
