  1. Swift and Slow Jas 1:19 ¶ Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: 20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God. James 1:19-26

  2. Ready to listen Swift to Hear “Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save yoursouls.”- Jas 1:21 NKJV Purge evil from heart Receive = submissive

  3. Ready to listen Swift to Hear “Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls..”-Jas 1:21 KJV Grafting the word = saves

  4. Swift to Hear “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” Jas 1:22 Jas.1:23-24 = Mirror Mt.7:24-27 Wise & Foolish man

  5. Swift to Hear Blessed for doing not hearing ! “But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.” Luke 11:28

  6. Slow to Speak • Slow to begin speaking • 1 tongue ~ 2 ears • James 1:26 bridle the tongue Control

  7. Slow to Speak • Why be slow to speak ? • Tongue is deadly- Jas.3:5-8 • Tongue can do much good – • Prov.25:11 “A word fitly spoken is like apples of God in pictures of silver”

  8. Slow to Speak ¶ Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him. Pr 29:20 ¶ In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise. Pr 10:19
