  2. The purpose of this work was to: • Open up different possibilities for classroom practice for the benefit of student learning • Develop and sustain a collegiate staff learning community with energy and commitment to enquire into and enhance educational practice

  3. Paying Attention to Classroom Practice Noticing Wide-awakeness being present – noticing – marking - recording

  4. What are our lenses? What are our assumptions about: Learning Teaching Our roles Purposes of education Students…. Where do these come from? How can we take a critical perspective?

  5. Looking at Examples of Teaching What do you see? What does a colleague see? Try another perspective Look closer Look wider Look through these lenses: Independent learning Technology in learning Learning communities Student-staff relationships ……….

  6. Activity: • Choose a recorded example of a moment in a teaching and learning session • What do you first notice? Record your response on the paper provided • Now notice something different and record this • Compare what you have noticed with what has been noticed by others

  7. Learning and Impact • What have we learned? • What is the impact?
