The basic topics to learn in Applied physics include Mathematics and its use in Science: -Including: Trigonometry, Experiments and Graphing for Relationships, Vectors and Vector AnalysisTopics in Linear and Rotational Mechanics:-IncludingKinematics- A description of motionDynamics – Forces and Newton's lawsStatics- Stationary and ridged structuresWork, Energy and Power- Transfer and Production Momentum Conservation- w/general conservation lawsRotational Motion, Torque and Rotational DynamicsDeformation, Stress and Strain
A check list of things to accomplish The course will include the following:1. Reading Assignments2. PowerPoint Lectures3. Some Video Assignments (Hewitt Drew it) with corresponding example problem sets.4. Additional Text book problem sets.5. A graded capstone project for final project grade assessment.
Course Process Each of the lessons will generally be linked to a section in the textbook for the course. As a student you should do the following process for each lesson.1. Read the associated chapter first.2. Watch the power point lectures3. Check the list of on-line video resources for problem assistance4. Work the associated home work problems5. Perform the Capstone experience exercises and turn them in for a grade.
Figuring your final grades. Your final grade will be calculated based upon approximately 15 capstone type exercises that are included in this course. Your grade will be figured based upon completion of these activities and the accumulation of points. Final Grades for the course will be derived from a percentage of points with a standard scale of A-90,B-80,C-70, D-60, F-Below 60.
